The Evenks or Evenki (formerly known as Tungus or Tongus) are a Tungusic people of Northern Asia. In Russia, the Evenks are recognized as one of the Indigenous peoples of the Russian North, with a population of 35,527 (2002 Census). About 2% of Yakutia's population are Evenki. Evenki have their own language, customs and deep reach culture. There is a proposal at Meta-Wiki to establish Evenki's own Wikipedia. Is it winter all year round over there?

Not exactly. Although winters are very cold in Yakutia (Average January temperature: −50°C), there are hot and sunny days in summer. Sometimes temperature goes up to +40°C (104°F).
